The Mel King School Garden – our first foray into urban agriculture – began in 2011 as a partnership between Haley House and the Melvin H. King South End Academy, formerly McKinley. Melvin H. King Academy provides special education for students in kindergarten through grade 12 and focuses on emotional, behavioral, and learning needs with a full range of programs. The Mel King School Garden provides interactive, hands-on, therapeutic, and fun programming for students of all ages.
