Housing

Everyone deserves a home.

Haley House owns and/or manages over 110 affordable housing units throughout Boston’s South End.  The majority are supported by project-based Section 8 subsidies, which enable people with low income to live securely in their own homes, without fear of being displaced. Our housing units fall under two broad categories:

Single Room Occupancy (SROs)

24 single-room-occupancy (SRO) units are reserved for individuals who are living in shelters or transitional programs and are ready to move into permanent housing. Individuals must be on or eligible for the Boston Housing Authority (BHA) waitlist and meet certain other requirements. We do not keep a waiting list for our subsidized units. When we have a vacancy we work with the BHA to fill it.

Family Units

69 subsidized family units, collectively known as Interfaith Apartments, are managed by Maloney Properties. To apply for these units, please call the management company at 617-927-0002 and ask to speak with the Property Manager.

Nine additional family units are not supported by formal subsidies. Rents are established on a sliding scale for the purpose of creating a small community of individuals who represent a cross-section of economies.

Please note: We do not hold a waitlist for any of our affordable housing units. If you are interested in SRO housing, please contact the Boston Housing Authority at (617) 988-4000. To apply for Family Unit housing, please call the management company at 617-927-0002 and ask to speak with the Property Manager.
