McKinley Collaborative Garden Project
The McKinley Collaborative Garden Project, our first foray into urban agriculture, began in 2011 as a partnership between Haley House and the William McKinley K-12 School. The school, which is part of the Boston Public Schools system and serves students with behavioral, emotional, and special learning needs, is located next door to our 23 Dartmouth Street building in the South End.
At McKinley, Haley House gardeners and volunteers teach hands-on lessons to students of all ages. Many lessons correspond to science lessons being taught at the school and others emphasize healthy food choices. Interested in learning more? Go to the project’s blog or check out the Facebook page.
